    Maturity?

We have some terrible news developing on the subject of my youth, or lack thereof.

Let me bring two songs to your attention.  Wait, by the Ying Yang Twins, and HollaBack Girl, by Gwen Stephani.

These songs have two things in common:
constant rotation on every Contemporary radio station in NYC,
Explicit Lyrics that are completely essential to the song.

Now, heres the terrible part.  God help me, I actually prefer the censored radio versions.  I try to console myself by saying that the producers really did a great job of using samples and what not to disguise the curses. I tell myself that leaving a bit to the imagination just makes things better.  I tell myself that "ish" and "skeet" are lightly velied inside jokes, and that hearing them is actually better than hearing their more common counterparts.

Wait till you see my "OHHH!".
    This ish is bananas! b-a-n-a-n-a-s!

Once the excuses are gone, I'm left with the obvious.  I'm officially getting old.

    The Movie List

So, every once in a while, us Geeks astound ourselves by our own ability to propagate mindless drivel across the web.  We then take an incredibly interesting, complex, social construct, and missapropriate it's name to describe what we're doing.

Without Further Ado, I present the Movie List Meme.

I don't really know where this list comes from;  first guess is box office rankings, or something like that.  There are, however, some great movies that aern't on this list, that I would highly recommend.

And now, onto the actual meme.  (Ironically, the lists above are more memetic than the list below...)

    Here’s the rules:

Copy this list onto your own blog.  Link back to my blog (add a trackback as well, if your software supports it).

NOTE TO FUTURE AUTHORS OF LAME WEB TYPE MEME THINGGEES:

if your going to do these web/blog based meme thingees, at least make them web friendly.  I manually converted this list into a proper ordered list.  If i had the time, I would have went through the painstaking effort of linking each item to amazon.  In fact, if you had done that, you could have made a nice chunk of change on affiliate click through, and could have used that as an interesting measure of propogation... oh well, maybe next time?
